As part of the business initiatives of the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and NIS, a research and training visit was held for members of four major Russian steelworks*¹, and DHOWA TECHNOS participated as a host company. Research and training was held from May 7-13, and our Overseas Sales Department attended for the full day on May 8. In the morning, we visited the Matsushima Measure Tech Co., Ltd. main plant to introduce coke-related machinery and equipment, which included an introduction of technologies cultivated over many years which contribute to the steel works upstream production processes. There was a particular focus on explaining equipment designed to control, monitor and measure equipment, and a tour of the actual production site also took place. In the afternoon, at group company EIM ELECTRIC CO., LTD., we introduced the lifting magnet devices installed in charging cars of trains which load coal into oven tops at coke plants, and toured the submersible pump production site. Later that day, we moved to the third floor of our extension where we introduced the CPEX Blue Sky oven door and President Kuramoto of EIM ELECTRIC gave a talk on control/drive device technologies for coke plant-related transport trains and guide vehicles. As the participants visiting Japan were engineers working with coke-related technologies in Russian steel works, they had a number of questions and requests predicated on deployment to their facilities, which made the research and training visit extremely lively. We would like to deepen the bonds that were created during this visit, and expand the business opportunities related to coke ovens within Russian steel works.
